Resources and infrastructure services group Ostwald Brothers acquired a derelict industrial warehouse with the intention of transforming it to a unique, multi-level, modern commercial office.
Harry Poulos Architects created design features from the warehouses existing industrial elements including the internal sawtooth roof profile and original raw bricks; contrasted against extensive use of living green space. With its soaring roof, Formula managed the project and easily added a mezzanine level to the facility which houses a variety of executive and middle management office spaces and extensive open plan workstation areas.
The huge atrium space offers sweeping views, break out zones and a commercial-grade kitchen to service the in-house restaurant. Glazing penetrations in the external walls added throughout the structure allow light to travel deep into the interior while giving a lightness to the otherwise industrial building.
The project called for the latest data/comms and BMS systems and incorporates state-of-the-art technology carried out by S360.
